The Interview
1. Tell us about yourself and how you started in voiceover.
I started doing voiceovers because Iโve always loved talking and expressing myself, it just felt natural. I didnโt have any fancy setup at first, just my phone and my voice. Over time, I started learning more, practicing daily, and trying out different styles. Iโd say my voice is soft, clear, and pretty easy to connect with. I mostly do commercials, lifestyle content, and relatable scripts that sound like real conversations. Iโm still growing, but I really enjoy bringing words to life.
2. What inspired you to pursue this career?
Iโve always had a thing for voice actors. People always complimented my voice and I needed to find my purpose in life, So i took a shot.
3. Who has inspired you the most in the voiceover industry?
Voice of steph, Agatha ike, Javeed, Tcode, and Ewoma.
4. What kind of voiceover work excites you the most?
Commercials Excite me a lot!
5. How have you been improving your skills?
Iโve been watching videos on YouTube, taking breathing exercises, voice over challenges on tiktok and most importantly, i use chat gpt to curate voice over scripts and practice on my own. It has helped me a lot.
6. What challenges have you faced, and how have you overcome them?
Portraying the right emotions is usually an issue plus my voice gets cracky really easily. I avoid warm water and strenuous conversations. As For Portraying the right emotions i put myself in the shoes of the listeners, it helps me deliver more.
7. What are your career goals in the VO industry?
I wish for my voice to be heard across Africa. I wish for people to hear my voice and always be excited because it sooths them everytime.
8. Whatโs the most ridiculous fee youโve ever accepted for a voiceover project, and how did it happen?
Five thousand naira. I had Just started my voice over journey and I had no idea about the fixed rate card. I didnโt think i was good enough for professional prices so I had to settle for that.
9. Have you ever worked with an annoying or overly demanding client? Tell us your most unforgettable ordeal!

10. What advice would you give to other upcoming voiceover artists?
Never doubt yourself. You can do all things! Keep practicing.
