The registration for Africa’s first voice-over competition, VO Star Africa, has finally commenced! The highly anticipated announcement was made on May 12, 2025, via an Instagram post @vostarafrica by the organizers of the competition, which was put together by Emmanuel “King E” Afemikhe, founder of The Voiceover Workshop and the first and biggest Voiceover conference in Africa.
According to the post, VO Star Africa, which kicked off as a Nigerian voice acting contest in 2021 is currently being sponsored by The Voiceover workshop and Media. The competition is open to voiceover artists who are bold and confident enough to challenge themselves and showcase their extraordinary talents to the world. It offers the opportunity to be heard, trained by the best, win big, and widen your visibility across the continent and globally.
To participate:
- Record a voice acting video using any script of your choice and post on Instagram with the hashtag #vostarafrica,
- Mention @vostarafrica, share with your friends and family to support your work, and wait for VO Star’s selection.
Entry for this year’s VO Star Africa competition is absolutely free and closes on Sunday May 18, 2025, with the grand finale taking place at the prestigious Voice over conference on June 27, 2025.
