Voice Masters, APVA & That’s Voiceover! What’s New in VO | Ep 25

Episode 25 of This Week in the Voiceverse is here, and it’s loaded with opportunities for voice artists at every level.
We start in Lagos, where City Media Academy has announced the return of its Broadcast Media Pro Course. Kicking off October 6th, the four-week program blends two weeks of hands-on training with a two-week internship at City 105.1FM. From diction and public speaking to radio presentation, news reporting, videography, and voiceover production, it’s the perfect launchpad for anyone serious about broadcasting. Early bird registration ends September 30th.
On the resource front, we just dropped a new article on how food and drink affect your voice. From crisp apples to sneaky dehydrating culprits, it’s a quick guide every voice artist should bookmark. Catch it now on voiceverseng.com.
In another exciting update, APVA Academy is calling for instructors to join Africa’s biggest audio learning hub. Podcasters, producers, storytellers, and voice actors can now apply to share their expertise and mentor the next generation of audio creatives. Applications are open via academy.apva.africa.
There’s also a casting call strictly for female Yoruba, Igbo, and Hausa voice talents. A Lagos-based studio is seeking professionals to voice commercials and jingles for top brands. Strong demos are a must, so send yours to vavnigeria@yahoo.com if you qualify.
On the international scene, Voice Masters recently teamed up with coach Danny Fehsenfeld for a free Animation Singing VO Workout. The interactive session guided voice actors on mastering the art of singing during auditions, with live coaching and feedback. If you missed it, not to worry — a full singing program is already on the way.
And finally, the countdown is on to That’s Voiceover! Career Expo 2026, happening virtually on January 9–10. Hosted by Joan Baker and Brian Stivale, the event promises real audition opportunities, speed networking with top decision-makers, and the legendary Mastery Intensives Series. Early bird tickets are now available at sovas.org.
From Lagos to Los Angeles, Episode 25 delivers everything you need to stay ahead in the voiceover world.
