Voice artists and animation enthusiasts across West Africa are set to benefit from a professional, skills-driven training, as VO Launchpad GH hosts a Masterclass in Animation Voiceover.

The event, which will feature award-winning Nigerian voice artist, premier voice-director, casting director, and coach, Remi Olutimayin, is scheduled for the 13th of December 2025.
Early-bird registration is set at GHS 350, and after this promotional window closes, access to the session will cost the regular fee of GHS 450 (a little less than N60,000).
This live Zoom session is designed as a practical pathway for emerging and mid-level talent seeking to master character voices and gain a competitive edge for regional and global animation opportunities.
The Value of Such A MasterClass
The session will center on mastering character voices for animation, guiding participants to make the right vocal choices, maintain vocal control, understand performance dynamics, and the studio discipline required in modern animated projects.
African animation is steadily on the rise, propagated and propelled by projects like the “Iyanu” series airing on Cartoon Network; “Ajaka: Lost in Rome” (directed by Remi); as well as the recent “Gammy and the Living Things” (Nigeria’s first full-length 3D Animated Musical). Clearly, this increase unlocks demand for specialised talent. Thus, this class aims to help voice actors move beyond generic or “announcement-style” reads into more believable, memorable characters that can stand alongside international productions.
Voice acting for animation requires a different system of vocal delivery, and to truly break into the subsector, talents need more than a scrapbook of tips. They need serious and structured direction on what character delivery demands are and the best tactic for script interpretation. In a post on Instagram, Olutimayin states: “Voice acting is not what you pick up from the script, it’s how you understand the script.“
An Opportunity to Learn from a Connoisseur of Voice Acting
Remi “aka, The Reptile” Olutimayin is widely recognised as one of West Africa’s leading voices in animation. He is credited as the first Voice Director for Animation, West Africa, and a two-time winner of the SOVAS Voice Arts Awards for Animation. His portfolio spans collaborations with studios linked to global brands and a healthy catalogue of regional projects. This, undoubtedly, has given him a rare view of both international expectations and the realities of African production (with its needs, preferences, and difficulties).
Over his illustrious career, Olutimayin has built a reputation as a mentor and educator, frequently sharing insights on performance, storytelling, and the business of voice acting through various posts, interviews, webinars, and workshops. Participants in the Masterclass can therefore expect not only technique-coaching but grounded practical advice on building sustainable careers in animation voiceovers from an experienced industry insider.
In Conclusion, the Value of this event to the wider African voiceover ecosystem cannot be overstated. Not only is it another notch in the belt of the developing African VO story, but it is also a contribution to the commitment to grow the African Voiceover ecosystem through collaboration.
By partnering with the seasoned Nigerian voice-artist and director, Remi Olutimayin, VO Launchpad Gh _ signals its intention to connect Ghanaian and regional artists and entrench the knowledge and standards needed to book jobs on high-quality animation projects worldwide.
How can talents piece together a puzzle, with no idea what the final image should look like? This event could be a revelation of the sometimes elusive big picture.
