VOICEFEST 2025 — 20 Participants to Receive Professional Voiceover Training Scholarship from AVOA!

In a move to boost professional development in the sector, the Association of Voice Over Artistes (AVOA) Nigeria has confirmed it will award 20 outstanding participants entry into the VoiceFest Professional Voiceover Training scholarship, a robust mentorship programme delivered in collaboration with top Nigerian voiceover institutions.

AVOA announced in a joint statement with the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, its partner for the highly anticipated four-day capacity building and training programme.
This initiative, according to the statement, is aimed at discovering, nurturing, and elevating the next generation of Nigerian voice talents.
Registration is free, and participants may register either as Attendees (access to Day 1 & Day 4) or as Trainees (access to the full Day 2 & Day 3 training programme) via the registration link.
Recall that AVOA few weeks ago had announced that the 2025 edition of VOICEFEST – A Thousand Voices will take place from November 25th to 28th, 2025, at Ojez, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, with all activities commencing by 9 AM daily.
Guided by the theme “From Mic to Market — Thriving in the Global AI Marketplace,” the programme aims to strengthen the Nigerian voiceover ecosystem through training, education, policy engagement, and community building, especially as Artificial Intelligence continues to redefine the creative landscape.
Here’s a daily breakdown of activities from day one to four.
DAY 1 — Virtual Webinar (6 PM – 8 PM)
The festival opens with a high-level virtual industry conversation exploring:
• The impact of AI on creativity, rights, and voice identity
• Legal & ethical frameworks (featuring IPLAN, NCC/NITDA, ARCON)
• Artist perspectives across commercial, narration, and character voiceovers
• A regulators’ roundtable on policy alignment
• A special address from the Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts & Culture

DAY 2 — Physical Training: Beginner Bootcamp (10 AM – 4 PM)
Hands-on foundational training covering:
• Introduction to Voiceovers
• Script Interpretation
• The Business of Voiceovers
• Nigerian Voiceover History
• Language-based micro-sessions (Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo & Pidgin)
DAY 3 — Physical Training: Advanced Masterclasses (10 AM – 4 PM)
Career-focused practical training, including:
• Commercial Voiceovers
• Narration & Animation
• Recording, Dubbing & Studio Techniques
• Vocal Booth Practice Sessions
• Content Creation for Voice Actors
DAY 4 — Grand Finale (10 AM – 4:30 PM)
A dynamic industry celebration featuring:
• High-level panel sessions
• Fireside chats with industry icons
• Ethics & Developmental sessions for creatives
• Stakeholders’ roundtable (ARCON, AAAN, VO schools & policy bodies)
• Awards ceremony
• Certificate presentation
The event is open to aspiring voice actors, working professionals, audio producers, content creators, advertising agencies, and policy stakeholders.
